Sometimes the entire process of giving your brows a thicker look can be a bit annoying, especially if you are in a rush. Then you are tempted to just let them be, with all the blanks. But as you begin to agree with your inner voice, you take another look at your brows unfleeked, and you just feel sorry for them because you realize that you’d never be caught dead rocking them with all those blanks. Regardless your method of filling and shaping your brows, can you imagine a world where you don’t have to fill them or draw over them permanently? I’m sure you’re thinking microblading and what not; but it’s not. It’s not a new cosmetic technique either, but most people have just never given it a thought – eyebrows transplant.
So, to try and give it some shine as a permanent eyebrows-filling technique, I caught up with Dubai’s celebrity hair transplant surgeon Dr. Cagatay Sezgin, who has been doing hair and eyebrows transplant for a while.

According to Dr. Sezgin, having thicker and fuller eyebrows has been trending for a couple of years now, from social media platforms to having celebrities like Lily Collins, Kaia Gerber, and Solange, just to name a few, embracing their bushy brows.
How Eyebrows Transplant Technique is Done
Eyelash and eyebrows transplant, explains Dr. Sezgin, is a very thorough procedure, which uses hair grafts from one’s own scalp or body. “These grafts are harvested from either of the donor areas then transplanted in-between your thinning eyebrows. The hair grafts chose for the procedure always have a similar curvature to your original brows and lashes.”
Depending on the amount of eyebrow hair loss you have experienced, explains the doctor, he creates a basis for the number of follicles to be used. “Sometimes it can be as little as 50 hair follicles, while at other times it can go as high as 100 follicles.”
Over time, usually between 6 and 12 months, the newly implanted hair grafts grow into permanent and healthy hair follicles, which end up giving your eyebrows a naturally dense and flawless look. But it all calls for patience.

The Technique Used
Dr. Sezgin uses Acell FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant technique, which, according to him, is ideal for volume restoration, because, in addition to being minimally invasive, it allows for faster healing and fast results. “Eyebrows transplant relies on this technique to ensure zero failure rates, meaning that almost 100% of the implanted micrografts are guaranteed to grow.”
After your eyebrows transplant procedure, recovery can take up to 5 days. And since your new eyebrows have come from the hair on your scalp, says the doctor, they might grow longer than required, which means you might need to trim them once in a while (or braid them out as a new trend).
