What is beauty? Some will say beauty is on the outside, while most will say it’s what is found on the inside. But I prefer to stick with the notion of beauty being in the eye of the beholder. What I find beautiful might not be what you find beautiful, which means we all have different perceptions of beauty!
Which brings me to my next point; why is it frowned upon when one does a bit of cosmetic touch up here and there? After all, you are doing what you think / know is right for you. So what if a mum does a mommy makeover, or a man decides to go through a Botox session to look and feel relaxed? That should not be frowned upon. It is what they want to do, and as long as they are not asking anyone for funds to make themselves feel beautiful, then to each their own.
After being in the aesthetic surgery industry for a while now, I have come to learn that having work done on you is not as black and white as some people think it is. These people who come for that tummy tuck, liposuction, breast augmentation or hair transplant did not decide on it overnight. They took their time to think it through before arriving at that decision. And one year down the line, they are happier than they were one year ago. And when a person is happy, you can see and feel their beauty radiating from them. So I think in the end, happiness is beauty. So do whatever you have to be happy, and you will not need anyone to tell you that you are beautiful.
