If you consider yourself a Foodie of the world, then you are aware that Singapore is a country with a huge appetite, and that Singaporean Street food – otherwise known as Hawker food – is a national treasure. From piping hot bowls of laksa to roti dipped in spicy curry sauce, the Singaporean Street food just keeps on getting more delicious without breaking the bank.
While Singapore is a great place to eat, it’s also a seven-hour plane journey from our beloved UAE. But if you are a keen foodie, none of that will matter. This time round you won’t have to take that plane ride as Eat the World DXB is flying the hawkers to Dubai so we can all experience the hype first hand. If that is not great news, then I don’t know what is, at least for today.

To entice you more, here are a few Singaporean Street Food dishes I can’t wait to dig into because there’s no way I am missing Eat the World DXB!
Singaporean Street Food at Your Door Step
Milo Godzilla
For those not familiar with this sweet delicacy, Milo is a powdered chocolate ice-cream float that you can enjoy hot or cold. The Singaporeans, however, take it to a whole new level. They include ice-cream, chocolate cereal, rose syrup, basil seeds, coffee and more. This one will have you jumping off the walls!
Chicken Laksa Sandwich
Chicken Laksa may be a Malaysian classic, but in a sandwich? Yep, that’s how the Singaporean Street food dishes it out. And that’s how you will have it at Eat the World DXB. Think chicken marinated in a spicy creamy coconut soup, garnished with a fresh salad of spring onion, spinach and coriander – but with noodles substituted for a fresh loaf. Tasty!
Chilli Crab Bun at Eat the World DXB
Contemporary Asian dim sum with a twist, the crab is lightly steamed before getting stir-fried in a mouthwatering sauce. This is one hawker food you won’t be able to resist soaking up with the fresh bun it’s housed in. Spices are added to give the dish a little extra kick.
Mee Siam with Shrimp
Sounds fancy to me; I’m just not sure about you. This is a popular Asian delicacy, which means Siamese noodle, and comprises thin rice noodles in a spicy, sweet and sour light gravy. A tart hit comes from tamarind, and seafood lovers can rejoice at the addition of fresh prawns. Delish!
Popiah roll
A healthy twist on a fried spring roll, Popiahs come filled with heaps of fresh vegetables including turnip, lettuce, green beans, cucumber and more. For the carnivores out there, meat options are available. And they will leave you feeling full without the guilt-trip.

More Street Food Hawkers at your Service
But if you are not that much into Singaporean Street food, worry not because there will be more “hawkers” from other sides of the world at Eat the World DXB. American food trucks are making their way across the pond in a bid to trump the Brits and the beloved Singaporeans at the foodie extravaganza.
Still not convinced to get your tummy there? Just think classic soul food like the iconic New Orleans Shrimp Po’ Boys and the original Mac n’ Cheese, to inventive twists on classics, such as Korean Steak Tacos and BBQ Chicken in soft, fluffy Taiwanese Bao buns. And for the sweet tooth, the masters of Funnel Cakes will be there, with deep fried Oreos, whipped cream and chocolate sauce to score the home run. Tempted yet? Great!
Put your dieting aside and let’s meet at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai for the Eat the World DXB extravaganza from Feb. 23 – 25.
