Skincare Review: Hydrafacial Treatment for a Radiant Skin

Review: Why Hydrafacial Treatment is the Perfect Pick-me-up for Tired Skin

I’ve heard about it, I’ve seen it in action but I have never got the time to experience it until now. I’m talking about finally reviewing the real Hydrafacial treatment at Dubai Laser Skincare clinic and finding out why it’s just the perfect pick-me-up for tired skin like mine. I’m calling it the “real” Hydrafacial treatment because a couple of months ago I had a “lite” version where I’m really not sure what happened; because I didn’t end up with radiant skin.

On the morning of my Hydrafacial treatment, I did not apply anything to my face; I just went in as naturally as I could be. The Medical Aesthetician – Dr. Lola Ali Muhammad – assisted by Nurse Joy, started off by cleaning my face with some delicate wipes dipped in clear warm water.

Opening Up Pores Through Steaming

After my “dirty” face was cleaned, she covered my eyes with a piece of cloth then started to steam it. She said the steaming is required in order to open up the pores, which makes it easier to unclog and deliver nutrients during the Hydrafacial treatment. I am not sure how long it took because I dozed off and woke up when I felt hands on my face. But just to be clear, nurse Joy told me the steaming lasted for about 15 minutes. I was curious to know if I finally had radiant skin but she just laughed it off.

Extraction of Debris and Residue (aka dirt)

It’s not the most comfortable feeling in the world, but I got through it in one piece. The extraction of the debris, which is part of the Hydrafacial treatment, is a bit more like scraping something off a surface, this time your skin. The tool used is not sharp, or anything that will bruise your skin, but you can literally feel it scraping away. And she was pretty excited to show me the residue off my face!

Hydrafacial Treatment

The Hydrafacial procedure itself uses a machine that has a distinct tip attached to a nozzle. This special tip exfoliates, cleanses, and extracts residue from the already open pores, while at the same time introducing replenishing nutrients as well as hydrating the skin. I would describe the process as quite soothing considering the nozzle uses suction. Dr. Lola diligently worked my face and neck, for about 30 minutes, before moving on to the next step.

Chemical Peeling

Since Dr Lola had told me that my skin looked dull during our consultation, she suggested we do a light chemical peel to brighten it. Before applying the peeling solution, she warned me that it would sting a little bit; which it truly did. Just a “little bit”. She applied two layers of the solution, which stayed on my face for about 8 minutes. After that, she diluted the solution on my face then cleaned me up.

Hydrating and Brightening Mask

After my face was squeaky clean, the good doctor applied a super hydrating hyaluronic brightening mask with Vitamin C. This stayed on for about 30 minutes, or until it was dry, before sweet Joy cleaned it off again, and then applied a final moisturizer which stayed on.

Results –My Radiant Skin and I

My face was visibly brighter and more radiant not to mention smooth. Although I don’t have any fine lines or wrinkles, I am sure that with this treatment they would have disappeared. For some reason, my face felt fresh and squeaky clean, and I was even afraid to touch it. The following morning the results looked better than the day before. It surely is a treatment for radiant skin.
