PRP Therapy for Youthful and Toned Looks

PRP Therapy for Youthful and Toned LooksPRP therapy or Platelet Rich Plasma has come a long way. It has been used for decades to help with faster healing of wounds. Now PRP therapy is like an anti-aging magic potion being used by most cosmetic clinics in the UAE and around the world.

As time flies by and months turn to years, we reach a point where we have to get some maintenance treatments for our skin. This, of course, depends on our lifestyles and how it impacts the youth of our skin. And just in case you were wondering, we all age at some point, but it would never hurt to delay this aging process for a while.

This is why treatments like PRP therapy were invented. We are always searching for ways to keep our skin looking younger. In addition, the majority of folks are turning towards the least invasive methods. Most of these give similar results with an added health benefit just like with PRP therapy.

PRP therapy LolaThis anti-aging technique, which is not so new, works wonders to those who heed the word of their skin specialist or doctor. In addition, if it is combined with other aesthetic treatments, it works even more wonderful magic, something which has made it a trend. In my fascination with PRP, I sought out one of the best skin specialists in PRP therapy to tell me more about this anti-aging treatment.

What is PRP Therapy?

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood. “After the blood has been drawn, the PRP is separated from the red blood cells and other blood components. And in order to make the plasma richer with the platelets, it is taken through a centrifugation process which amplifies the concentration,” explains Lola Ali Muhammad – Medical Aesthetician.

Combining PRP therapy with other treatments

Incorporating PRP with certain anti-aging skin treatments like micro-needling and fractional laser, the results become more distinguished, while the downtime is cut by half.

At her clinic, Lola uses two treatments combined with PRP. These are Fractional Laser with PRP Therapy, and Microneedling with PRP. “Today, life has become very busy and fast-moving. As a result, nobody can afford weeks off from work,” says Lola. She adds that these two treatments offer excellent results within a short period of time and have minimal downtime.

“As we have seen, PRP is a component found in our blood. This plasma is rich in growth factors, which, for decades, has played a big part in the treatment of wounds. It works well with the human body because the blood is drawn from the patient. This makes it a more natural and alternative method of skin rejuvenation,” states the skin specialist.

In my next post, I will explain the mechanics of Microneedling and fractional laser combined with PRP therapy. As for now, if you have any questions on PRP, leave a comment below and I will pass then on to Lola.
