Pore Minimizing Face Masks Right From Your Kitchen

pore minimizing face masksBad skin care hygiene, aging and genetics can sometimes lead to large pores. And the last time I checked no one I know likes enlarged pores, especially on their face. Pores, for those not in the know, are microscopic holes on the skin but sometimes they are not so microscopic especially when you have not been giving your skin some tender love and care. And to get rid of these pores, or at least reduce them, I have done my homework on some pore minimizing face masks that are right within reach.

What Causes Enlarged Pores?

Before heading over to the pore minimizing face masks, the main reason why you get enlarged pores is due to over-secretion of oil in the skin. And sometimes, instead of treating the problem, we try to cover it up with concealers. What you are not aware of is that this does not solve the problem but only aggravates it further because this clogs the pores more causing dirt and oil to build up.

There are a number of over the counter pore minimizing face masks (which we can look at later) but for now, we’ll be going natural courtesy of our kitchen. Minimizing pores is not something that you do overnight and get results. You’ll need to incorporate it into your beauty routine.

Pore Minimizing Face Masks To Try

Baking Soda

Baking powder works wonders when it comes to pore minimizing face masks. It also fights blackheads and acne. If you are pron to dry skin, add some oil to the mixture. Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with water to form a paste. Apply the paste and let it sit for about 15 minutes then rinse. Baking soda pulls the dirt and oil from the skin as it tightens the pores. It is inexpensive and cleanses the skin while at it.

Egg whites

This is actually a very simple face mask. All you have to do is beat the egg white a little then apply it and let it dry. You’ll even be able to feel the skin tightening as the mask dries. Rinse off and pat dry. If you cannot handle the smell of raw eggs on your face then just add a bit of rose water to the mixture. You can do this mask on a weekly basis.

Tomatoes

Yes, those tomatoes that you eat every day are also on this list and they do an amazing job when it comes to pore minimization. Cut a tomato and apply it, let it sit for a while then rinse it off. Tomatoes contain antioxidants like lycopenes, have natural toning properties and are also sources of vitamin A and C. How great is that for your skin….you can do this mask a few times a week.

Honey and Egg

Apart from cleansing your skin, this is one of those pore minimizing face masks that keep wrinkles at bay and nourish the skin. Mix 1 tablespoon honey with an egg then apply on your face. Rinse off after it has dried. Honey makes the skin softer and also makes it glow. You can use this face mask at least twice a week.

Cucumber, Brown sugar and Aloe

Cucumber cleanses and hydrates the skin while brown sugar and aloe normalize pH levels on the skin. Aloe is full of other benefits for the skin as well as for the body. Mix equal parts of these ingredients into a pulp but make sure that they are fresh. Apply on your skin and let it sit for some minutes then rinse. This face mask is especially great for sensitive skin.
