Your eyes have always been considered the windows to your soul. Also, they can easily reflect your overall personality. For this reason, having lively and youthful eyes will give you a striking image. That said, sometimes we end up with sagging skin on the upper or lower eyelids, and we find ourselves looking for ways to reverse this effect. There’s one treatment that can restore the youthfulness to your eyes, and the best part is that you don’t have to go under the knife (we know most people run for the hills when they hear surgery). The treatment, known as Plexr plasma eyelift or non-surgical blepharoplasty, has very minimal downtime and doesn’t leave any scarring. I spoke to Dr Adnan Tahir, a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Dubai, about this minor aesthetic tweakment.

According to Dr Adnan Plexr Plasma eyelift is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that regenerates skin collagen using a specialized device called a Plexr Pen. This non-invasive procedure not only gives one a youthful appearance but achieves eye symmetry as well.

How Does the Non-surgical Blepharoplasty Treatment Work?

The Plexr Plasma pen, which is a handheld device, creates a plasma arc that generates heat. When directed on the target area, it creates micro-holes on the skin, which causes instant contraction and tightening of loose skin. “This happens due to the stimulation of collagen and elastin production, which is key for youthful skin,” explains Dr Adnan, adding that all this happens while leaving the surrounding skin completely intact! “The newly generated skin cells continue tightening over a period of days.”

But Is the Treatment Painful?

The above explanation of how the non-surgical blepharoplasty treatment works might scare some people, but Dr. Adnan assures that the treatment barely stings. Before the treatment commences, a numbing cream is applied to the target area. This makes the skin go completely numb, meaning you won’t feel anything during the treatment.

What is the Duration of the Treatment?

The Plexr plasma eyelid lift treatment is done on an outpatient basis, and takes about 30 – 40 minutes, depending on the size of the target area. Immediately after, you can go back to your activities, although there will be some degree of redness after the non-surgical blepharoplasty treatment that lasts for about a week while the skin heals & this can be masked with foundation after a few days.

Finally, what are the expected results…

“The Plexr eyelid lift is a treatment that was developed for people who are after a faster treatment, with minimal downtime and effective and almost instant results,” says Dr Adnan, noting that the results start showing after only 10 days (depending on the Fitzpatrick type of the skin, because Plexr is only ideally used for Fitzpatrick 1-3 skin only), with the skin continuing to tighten for the next 3 – 4 weeks. “I call it a gift that keeps on giving.” The non-surgical blepharoplasty treatment is also very reliable because the Plexr pen device used is quite small making it very easy to manoeuvre and reach the most hidden parts on the target area. Immediately after the procedure, the patient has to protect the treated area from the sun.
