Mangoes, leave alone the mango salad, are always referred to as the king of fruits for a reason. They have lots of benefits including lowering cholesterol, clearing the skin, improving digestion and boosting your immune system among other things. To add on top of all these benefits, is the fact that mangoes taste great!
Here is a simple mango salad recipe that will give you a new style to consume your mangoes. (Serves one person)
Ingredients
- 200 grams grilled chicken, sliced
- 200 grams bag of fresh lettuce cleaned (see how to clean packed lettuce)
- 1 medium ripe mango, well cleaned and cubed
For the Dressing
- 3 tbsp. mustard
- 4 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar (see the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar)
Directions for mango salad preparation
- Whisk together all the ingredients for the dressing in a container/bowl.
- Add a little salt to taste to the dressing then put aside.
- Put the cubed mango, chicken and fresh lettuce into a separate salad bowl then toss well to mix.
- Drizzle the already made salad dressing over the mixture and toss gently.
- Add a dash of black pepper if you wish.
- You can garnish with raw onion rings or cherry tomatoes.
- Serve immediately with toasted buttery buns or some real German pretzels.
