Dubai, for those who know the Emirate, or have been around, is a foodie haven. It is the one city where you’ll find an eatery, from budget cafes to gourmet restaurants, in every corner you turn (well almost every corner). And when the weather reaches scorching levels, then the Dubai summer dining scene switches things up a little bit.
During this hot period, most people who live in Dubai tend to travel, leaving us mere mortals to enjoy the scorching sun. But, don’t worry, because if you are a mere mortal like us, then you know that we are not just left behind to tan in the sun; there is always a bright side lurking in the corner.

We’ve put together a Dubai summer dining guide, to keep you occupied, and your palate happy, just in case you’ll be hanging back while the rest are enjoying a different kind of summer.
Warayaki Dining Experience at Netsu
Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai has just introduced a new dining and celebrated concept just in time for summer – Netsu Dubai. The hotel already has the distinction of being the first Mandarin Oriental resort within the Middle East and now it has another first under its belt: it is introducing the region to traditional Japanese cooking technique, Warayaki.
Originating from the Kochi Prefecture in Shikoku, Netsu’s chefs grill food using dry straw instead of charcoal, giving it a unique flavor and taste. Meats and seafood are beautifully seared on the outside maintaining a very tender and juicy flesh on the inside. The soaring flames also create a spectacle, adding an element of drama to the dining experience. This concept is brought by acclaimed chef and restauranteur Ross Shonhan, and now you see why it takes the lead on our Dubai summer dining guide.
