Some of us prefer natural home-made skincare remedies, while others go for factory-made cosmetics and skincare procedures by a skin specialist. Me, as usual, I always work with what’s working. And that’s why in this post I’m sharing with you a few DIY face masks that will leave your skin feeling fresh and glowing.
DIY Face Masks you Can Easily Whip in your Kitchen
Avocado Face Mask
Avocados, as you already know, are my favorite fruits (if you can call them that). Not only for eating but for applying on my skin and hair. They have some very important nutrients like calcium, iron, copper, potassium, magnesium, and vitamins. Avocado DIY face masks can reverse aging signs, treat dry and acne prone skin and enhance skin elasticity. To add on to that, avocado masks are suitable for all skin types.

Avocado Honey Mask: Get a ripe avocado and mash it. Add a tablespoon of honey then stir until you get a fine paste. Apply to your face, wait 15 minutes then wash off with warm water and enjoy your glowy skin. Both avocado and honey are great skin moisturizers, so expect a supple skin as well afterward.
DIY Turmeric Mask
Turmeric is a spice that has antioxidant properties which help fight free radicals, and as a result, gives you flawless skin. The spice has antibacterial properties that kill acne bacteria. In addition, it reduces scarring, dark circles, and wrinkles. When used on a regular basis, a turmeric face mask can help to clear common skin issues.

Turmeric, honey and rosewater mask: Make a thick paste out of a half teaspoon of turmeric powder, one teaspoon of honey, 5 drops of rosewater and one teaspoon of gram flour. Apply the mask on your face and allow to dry. Wet your fingertips and massage your face for 3-5 minutes then wash off with chilled water. This mask will not only give you glowing skin but also an even skin tone. Use the mask 2-3 times a week for best results.
Egg whites DIY Face Mask
Egg whites help in treating acne and removing excess oil from the skin in addition to minimizing the appearance of wrinkles by tightening the skin. They are high in protein which is good for nourishing the skin, as well as vitamins and minerals.

Egg whites and Lemon Mask: Mix 2 raw egg whites, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons olive oil then refrigerate for about 30 minutes. After cleansing your face, apply a thick layer of the mixture then let it dry completely. Afterward, remove the mask and wash off with cool water. Be sure to moisturize afterward. If used twice weekly, this mask will eventually brighten up your skin.
Cinnamon Face Mask
Cinnamon spice has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe acne inflammations and skin irritations like eczema and rosacea. And if used regularly it can fade blemishes, dark spots, and acne marks in addition to skin brightening. Cinnamon also contains calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which are essential for healthy skin.

Honey cinnamon face mask: Put 2 tablespoon cinnamon powder and 2 tablespoons raw honey in a bowl and mix until you get a fine thick paste. Massage the mixture onto your face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water then pat dry.
As usual, before applying any of these DIY face masks do a patch test to make sure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. Wait 24 hours for any signs of allergies such as skin redness or itchiness. If you see any of the signs do not use that particular face mask. Also, if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients, don’t even bother doing the patch test; stay away from them!
