China Pavilion in Global Village Dubai 7If you are planning on going to the Global Village Dubai, expect to experience a number of spectacular pavilions, one of them being the China Pavilion. Last time we savored the beauty and bold styles of African fashion, and come tomorrow we might be feasting on tradition, color and heritage of India. As of today, let us sample the unique flavors of Chinese architectural heritage.

Discovering China at Global Village Dubai

China Pavilion in Global Village Dubai 7The stunning façade of the China Pavilion at Global Village Dubai has been constructed to capture the rich architectural heritage of China with a number of   structures reflecting towers from Guangzhou, the Pagoda in Suzhou and the Dinghui Temple in China.

As you enter through the Guangzhou gate, you will be able to make your way into a Heritage Square that captures the refreshing springs and rocky peaks of China’s most beautiful National Forests Park, the Fenghuangling Nature Park, also known as Phoenix Mountain.

Inside this simulation park area, you will find both depictions and examples of Chinese opera, holy magic lanterns and the traditional Chinese dragon that symbolizes power, wisdom, and good fortune. And as you keep walking through the halls and stalls of the Pavilion, you will find yourself immersed in the charming ancient Chinese Architecture of old Beijing. Portraying the typical Beijing ‘hulong’ or city, the pavilion holds traditional ornate architectural designs that are characterized by wood roof structures built on stone.

Han Dynasty style of clothing and Traditional Tea at China Pavilion

China Pavilion in Global Village Dubai 7Just at the China Pavilion entrance itself, you are greeted by hosts dressed in traditional Chinese costumes. They represent the Han Dynasty style of clothing including a ‘Hanfu’ characterized by a crossing collar (or ‘Jiao Ling’), right lapel and waistband. As you stroll down the China Pavilion streets, make sure to stop by the special tea stall to sample authentic tea flavors from traditional Chinese teapots. If you are lucky, you might just find the popular flavors like black, white, jasmine and green tea all made using traditional Chinese methods which include drying, steaming, or rolling.

And if you want to try out the Chinese tea methods at your home, there are beautiful handmade Chinese teapots on sale. These are an integral part of Chinese tea culture – the art of drinking tea or ‘chayi’, and you can’t have the Chinese tea experience without them. Each teapot is meant to retain heat and absorb deep flavors and aromas of the tea. That’s why you should only use the same pot for each type of tea to maximize the flavor; otherwise you end up with a mixture of different flavors meaning you lose out on that tea experience.

Watch Chinese Acrobats taking Over Global Village Dubai

China Pavilion in Global Village Dubai 7Since China has a global reputation for the quality and expertise of its acrobats, the China Pavilion would never be as amazing without them. In fact, they are providing daily performances this season. They feature the amazing group of acrobats from the ‘Wuqiao’ county. This county is in the south eastern Hebei province, commonly known as the ‘home of Chinese acrobatics’. They are quite famous for their acrobatics since they act in harmonious coordination while balancing, juggling and doing gymnastics. The acts include ‘Hand to hand acrobatics’, ‘Diabolo act’ (or Chinese yo-yo acrobatics) and ‘Chair Stark’.

Zhang Jian, who is a professional acrobat, is experiencing his first Global Village Dubai season. In his excitement he says that he comes from a place where acrobatics is part of their heritage. He has been performing for more than 24 years now, and has had the amazing chance to travel around the world showcasing the exciting art of Chinese Acrobatics.

In short, the China Pavilion inside the Global Village Dubai captures visitors with its prominent and colorful façade. And if you look hard enough, you might get yourself a bargain on anything from fashion accessories and clothes to home décor. All authentically made in china.

xoxo
