Cellulite. I’m yet to hear someone whisper they are proud of it. Sometimes we may flaunt it and all, but truth be told, I would be ecstatic to get rid of it. Cellulite has a way of making the skin look aesthetically unappealing (in my opinion), and if given a chance to do away with it, or just reduce it a tad bit, I’d be happy to grab that chance. I learned a couple of weeks back that Tips and Toes Dubai has a cellulite treatment that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. So, with my curiosity in tow, I decided to do a cellulite treatment review, so that you won’t have to do a trial and error.
But before we get to my cellulite treatment experience, let’s talk a little about this dimpled-skin situation. Did you know that more than 85% of women have cellulite? I now know, and it makes me feel better that I’m not alone (but I still want to get rid of it using whatever cellulite treatment or remedy available to me).
Anyway, back to the statistics. Women are more prone to being affected by this bumpy skin situation than men, simply because of how our collagen is built up (more about this at a later date). Also, if you thought you had to be curvy to have cellulite, you couldn’t be further from the truth. Cellulite ‘attacks’ anyone from a size zero to size 20 and beyond. If you need more convincing, I would probably show you my upper thighs, but that would be NSFW. So, just believe it happens, let it go, and move on to my cellulite treatment review.
The Consultation
Since Tips and Toes is a spa, the consultation was not similar to what you’d get at an aesthetic surgery center. Needless to say, the spa was very cozy, with little cabanas for you to relax while waiting for your massage therapist to come take you by your hand. The ladies are quite friendly, and they’re ready to go that extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. So, what was my issue and what did I want to fix? Cellulite, cellulite, more cellulite, and then some.

The Cellulite Treatment
My therapist, who went by the name Anna Lee, was quite lovely. After stripping down to my disposable knickers, she simply asked if I wanted a mild or deep massage for the cellulite treatment. Since I usually consider myself a badass, I told her the deeper the better; and she seemed quite content (even slightly excited).
Anna Lee started off the cellulite treatment with a simple massage using pure 100% micronized green coffee. After a few minutes, the simplicity turned to ‘deep’. In addition to massaging, she was kneading my skin into submission, from the lower thighs to the lower back. She put her healing touch anywhere she could sense the presence of cellulite; it was like she could sniff it out. Truth be told, the deep massage was really relaxing, considering I had it at the end of a long day.

Heated ‘Burrito’ Wrap
After the kneading, she smeared my entire body – from neck to toes – with what she called the green coffee scrub; then wrapped me in plastic, and finally covered and zipped me in what looked like a heated suit carrier (don’t worry, my head was out). I actually wondered if that’s how burritos feel like; because I’m sure I looked like a human burrito.
This cellulite treatment, she said, is meant to tone and slim my body. This wrap stimulates your body’s ability to break down fat, increases metabolism, and eliminates water retention. It does this with the help of green coffee, which is naturally rich in chlorogenic acid, polysaccharides, proteins, and essential oils.

While my cellulite was supposedly melting away and my body toning, which took about 20 minutes, Anna Lee gave me one of the best head massages I’ve ever had (made me feel like that head massage emoji). If I were to trade the cellulite treatment for a serious head massage, guess what I’d choose? Never mind, carry on…
After the heated wrap, I took a shower to rinse off the coffee scrub, and then it was time for a slightly less deep massage. On my upper body, she applied a lotion which smelled like eucalyptus. She told me it was supposed to relax me and soothe any discomfort I might be feeling. On my lower more cellulitic part of the body, she applied a green coffee serum to help in reducing the cellulite. This, she explained, smoothens and enhances the skin’s overall texture, visibly reducing spongy, dimply cellulitic surface areas.

The Results of My Cellulite Treatment
After the cellulite treatment, she advised me not to shower that evening and to let the body absorb everything that was part of the treatment. Immediately after the treatment, my skin felt smooth, although I could still see the bumpy surface. 4 days post the treatment, I noticed a reduction in the bumpiness. But to see a real improvement, Anna Lee told me I needed about 10 sessions. That’s quite fair, as long as that mind-blowing head massage is included!
And finally to the big question; Would I do it again? Or would I follow through with the 10 treatment sessions? Definitely. This cellulite treatment is also a great alternative for anyone who is not a fan of any surgical cellulite treatment.
